Hocus Pocus Book Tag

I am so excited about this tag! Hocus Pocus is one of my favorite movies to watch during the Halloween season! This tag was created by Katie @ Never Not Reading. She was also kind enough to tag me in it! Thanks so much Katie! Let’s get to it!

RULES

There are no rules! Just link back to Katie in your post and thank the person who tagged you!

THE SANDERSON SISTERS

A great trilogy.

img_2647

The Golden Compass by Philip Pullman!

WINIFRED SANDERSON

A book with a truly evil female villain.

img_2648

My typical answer would be Dolores Umbridge from Harry Potter but I’m going to switch it up and say Levana from the Lunar Chronicles.

SARAH SANDERSON

A book that uncannily attracts children.

img_2649

A Series of Unfortunate Events by Lemony Snicket.

MARY SANDERSON

A book that is just plain silly.

img_2650

I don’t read silly books…I’m going to go with one from my childhood and say Mrs. Pigglewiggle. I think it was funny anyway

MAX

A book that is trying really hard to be cool, but doesn’t always succeed.

img_2651

Cayleth Warding and the Scarlet One. It just seemed like a cheap knock-off of Stephen King’s Storm of the Century. When you try to recreate a work of King, it’s just a given that you’re gonna fail. Sorry, but King is a master.

DANI

A book that isn’t afraid to tell it like it is.

img_2652

My current read, Strange Weather. In the very first story of the anthology, he straight up says that this book will not end in a happy way. Cant get anymore straight-forward than that.

BINX

A book series that just won’t die.

img_2653

Omg. Literally anything Sarah J. Maas. Both of her series, Throne of Glass and ACOTAR, just won’t go away!

ICE

A book with a character that’s dumb as a rock.

img_2654

Hmm…gonna go with Twilight. Bella is just annoying and she makes the stupidest decisions. P.S. I actually like Twilight. Doesn’t change the fact that I think Bella is dumb.

THE BLACK FLAME CANDLE

A book or series you wish you could resurrect.

img_2655

Where the Red Fern Grows!! It’s one of my favorite books of all-time and I want everyone to read it so we can all cry together.

HEADLESS BILLY BUTCHERSON

A book that’s not so bad as people make it out to be.

img_2656

Bringing up Twilight once again. Yes, there are some problematic issues with the story, but come on, it was a good series back in the day! I don’t care what anyone says. I’ll always love Twilight.

WINIFRED SANDERSON’S SPELL BOOK

A book with a mind of its own.

img_2657

Hmm…Cassandra Clare’s Shadowhunter books. They just keep going and going. I know C.C. says she plans out her books, but they seem to have taken over. And she’s still going with the series. Not that I’m complaining! I love the series!!

GARRY MARSHALL

A book with a cameo.

img_2658

Lola and the Boy Next Door and Isla and the Happily Ever After!

  1. Levana was a great villain. I truly despised her. I miss that series *tear*. Hey now!! Don’t be wishing my precious ACOTAR series away lol!!! I really love that series. I know we all like different things tho so it’s cool ❤ ❤ Great post and thanks so much for tagging me!!!

  2. This is such a great tag for Halloween!! I agree with Sarah J Maas books, I’ve only read ACOTAR series and that’s probably where it will end for me. I think an author can go overboard with a book series!

  3. Thanks for the tag! Great answers. I haven’t read half the books you mentioned, but yes Bella is pretty dumb. And yay for the Anna and the French Kiss books!

  4. Thank you for the tag! Hocus Pocus is also one of my most favorite movies to watch in October or around Halloween. I agree with you on the SJM books, they’re everywhere haha.

      1. I watched it last Sunday! I also watched The Craft and Practical Magic for the first time. If you haven’t seen them you should, they’re both such great witch movies.
