What Are You Reading Wednesday was created by Rhianna, Marissa, and Kendall. The idea is to create a space for book lovers to share, discuss, and recommend the books they are currently reading and loving. All you have to do is answer the questions about your current read and then head over to one of the host’s sites to link up your post! Have fun and don’t forget to check out everyone’s posts as well!
MY CURRENT READ
A princess must find her place in a reborn world.
She flees on her wedding day.
She steals ancient documents from the Chancellor’s secret collection.
She is pursued by bounty hunters sent by her own father.
She is Princess Lia, seventeen, First Daughter of the House of Morrighan.
The Kingdom of Morrighan is steeped in tradition and the stories of a bygone world, but some traditions Lia can’t abide. Like having to marry someone she’s never met to secure a political alliance.
Fed up and ready for a new life, Lia flees to a distant village on the morning of her wedding. She settles in among the common folk, intrigued when two mysterious and handsome strangers arrive—and unaware that one is the jilted prince and the other an assassin sent to kill her. Deceptions swirl and Lia finds herself on the brink of unlocking perilous secrets—secrets that may unravel her world—even as she feels herself falling in love.
1. Why did you decide to pick up this book–cover or content?
Content! This has been on my TBR for awhile now. It sounds so good. I mean there’s a prince and an assassin and nobody knows who is who.
2. Who is your favorite character so far, and why?
The main character, Lia. The book rotates points of view between her, the assassin, and the prince and her point of view has been my favorite so far.
3. Will you finish this one?
Yes! I am loving playing the guessing game as to who is the bad guy and who is the good guy. So far I have no clue at all.
4. This book reminds me of…
Honestly, I have no idea. I’m stumped.
5. What type of read is this one? (Slow but interesting, cannot put it down…)
Cannot put it down! I’m so interested in finding out who is who. I know I keep repeating this but it is honestly part of the fun when it comes to reading this book. I also know there is a major plot twist in this book so I am anticipating that as well.
Well, that completes this week’s What Are You Reading Wednesday post! It was a lot of fun! Are you planning on participating next week? What is your current read? Let me know down in the comments! ‘Til next time!
Great post x

This book is soo me, it’s taking major willpower to not buy it immediately, ahaha.
I’m currently reading Endurance by Scott Kelly and while I struggle with nonfiction, I’m really enjoying it!

Yeah, The Kiss of Deception is so good! I’m really liking it! I’ve heard of Endurance but have stayed away just because I’m not big into nonfiction either.

Yay! So glad you’re enjoying the book. I’m almost caught up to day 2, and hopefully I’ll be on day 3-4 by the time I’m done with the audiobook at work. After the initial slowness/overly descriptive beginning, I’ve been enjoying it a lot too! 😀

Me too! It’s my new favorite! I’ll have to join another one of your read alongs! As long as it isn’t romance 🙃

lol next month is out then haha. I went with romance because February had Valentine’s Day in it. I’m trying to alternate YA and romance. I want to throw in a thriller too. I’m in the mood for one of those.

I really liked it. I was a little skeptical going in at first bc I had seen some mixed reviews, but I’m glad I gave it a chance. I liked it a lot!

I was eyeing it for a while too to be honest. I might try to put it a bit ahead of my TBR. 🙂

I have heard of this, but I’m not sure if I’m interested enough. You’ll have to let me know how it is! I trust your judgement.

I loved it! Gave it 5 stars. But then again, I don’t mind love triangles and that’s a big focus in this book..so not sure if you’d enjoy it or not just because of that.

Ahhh, love triangle, 🙃

I meant 4 stars not 5. My bad!
