Author Appreciation

Hey guys, so today I’m doing something a little different. I wanted to show some appreciation for two authors who have not only gone above and beyond to recognize and appreciate bloggers, but have also become dear friends to me.

Annie Woods

The first author I would like to show some love and support to is Annie, author of First Came Forever, the first book in The Angelheart Saga. Back in August, Annie sent me an email asking if I’d like to read and review her debut novel. I of course said yes, but what I wasn’t expecting was to gain a friend. She is the first author who I really connected with on another level. She is such a kind and sweet person and I just can’t say enough good things about her.

On top of being an amazing author, she is so so so supportive of bloggers! She reads each and every review she receives and also shares them on her social media sites. She is always showing her appreciation for her readers. I love that about her! She shares blog reviews on her Twitter, is super supportive and gives shoutouts over Instagram, and she even has a Blogger Spotlight over on her blog where she recognizes a blogger each week. She truly is a fantastic person. I am so happy we have become friends!

Annie has also included me in the development of her second book, which I am extremely grateful for. She emailed me about advice for picking a title for the second book in The Angelheart Saga, which I’m happy to say the title I chose was picked! I am just overwhelmed with happiness that she included me in the process. I am also so happy for her success! She truly deserves all the praise she receives!

You can find Annie on Twitter, Instagram, Facebook, and her blog.

R.J. Furness

R.J. is the author of the dissent books: dissent: RENEGADES, Morrigan: a dissent story, and Orgo Runners: The First Run. R.J. and I first became friends through Twitter. We were mutual friends for awhile interacting a little bit here and there. One day he sent me a dm asking if I would like to read and review dissent: RENEGADES. I was currently not accepting review copies at the time so he made sure to add that it was just a suggestion and there was no pressure if I wanted to say no. I just couldn’t do that though. I wanted to read his book so of course I accepted his offer. I am so glad I did! I am such a huge fan of his series now.

On top of being a fantastic author, he is super supportive of bloggers, especially on Twitter. He is constantly showing his support by liking, commenting, and retweeting bloggers’ tweets. He has also shared a photo of mine from a blog post I wrote up on his Instagram as well. His support is just unreal and he is one of the nicest people I have ever had the chance to get to know. I am so glad R.J. took that chance and approached me to read his books. I never would have become such great friends with him if he hadn’t.

He also included a quote from my book review of dissent: RENEGADES on the cover! That was the first time that had ever happened to me and let me tell you, it was such an amazing feeling to see my quote on a book cover! It was just the greatest surprise! It definitely brought tears to my eyes! Thank you R.J. for making that the highlight of my blogging career thus far!

I am eagerly anticipating whatever he comes up with next. I know he mentioned that he may postpone writing the dissent books to start on a new idea, and I fully support that. I just want to read anything he comes up with!

You can find R.J. on Twitter, Instagram, Facebook, and his blog.

  1. I love how supportive some authors are! They know that the more success a blogger has, the more people the blogger will reach with great feedback on their book.
Being a book blogger has introduced me to many great authors and bloggers alike!

  2. It is so nice to hear about supportive authors 😀 I have had a couple of cases in which I have wanted to go to the other side of the screen and give them a big hug

  3. This is such an amazing post, Danielle! I love Annie so much! She is the sweetest author I have met. I’m happy that she included you in deciding the title for book 2! I can’t wait for it to come out! I love the relationship that we, as bloggers, can create with authors. It’s such a wonderful experience! 🙂
