The Spring Cleaning Book Tag

I was tagged by one of my blogging besties, Kris over at Boston Book Reader! Thanks so much for the tag! Make sure you all head on over to her post and check out her answers as well!

The struggle of getting started: A book or series you struggle to begin because of its size.

The Dark Tower series by Stephen King. I want to read it so badly, but I am intimidated with the amount of books in the series.

Cleaning out the closet: A book or series you want to unhaul.

The House of Night series by P.C. and Kristin Cast. It just got to be too many books. I’m over this series. It needs to go!

Opening windows and letting fresh air in: A book that was refreshing.

The Kitty Hawk Detective Agency books! They are YA adventure books and are totally unique and fun! I love this series and have the third one yet to read and review!

Washing out the sheets: A book with a scene you wish you could rewrite.

I love this book, but ugh..There is a disgusting scene in here that totally brought the book down in my opinion. Luckily, both of the movies left out the scene. It was just unneeded and unnecessary in my opinion. If you’ve read this book before, you’ll most likely know what scene I am talking about.

Throwing out unnecessary knick knacks: A book in a series you didn’t think was necessary.

Not counting Queen Song in this. I do think Steel Scars was unnecessary though.

Polishing doorknobs: A book that had a clean finish.

I know this is also a series, but I do believe A Wrinkle in Time can stand on its own. It didn’t end on a cliffhanger and it didn’t leave me with questions. It had a nice clean ending in my personal opinion.

Reaching to dust the fan: A book that tried too hard to relay a certain message.

This book grated on my nerves with the amount of pop culture references and trying to be relevant as to what is going on now in our society, such as racism. Don’t get me wrong, I think it is important to stand against racism, but this book tried too hard. The way the author went about it was just too in your face. I don’t know, it might just be me, but in my opinion there are better ways to go about it.

The tiring, yet satisfying finish of spring cleaning: A book series that was tiring but satisfying to get through.

Okay y’all, I’m not dissing on this series in the slightest. Actually, if you know me, you’ll know this is one of my favorite book series, but damn is it tiring to read through all of these books. There are just so many and more on the way. But I ain’t hating! I’ll take all the Jem I can get!!

  2. Awwwhhh… Dark Tower is my favourite series! Read it twice. I think i was lucky cuz when i started them, not all books were published yet, so it didn’t seem so massive. That said, I’d read anything by Stephen King so this is not an issue for me 🙈😍
