What Are You Reading Wednesday was created by Rhianna, Marissa, and Kendall. The idea is to create a space for book lovers to share, discuss, and recommend the books they are currently reading and loving. All you have to do is answer the questions about your current read and then head over to one of the host’s sites to link up your post! Have fun and don’t forget to check out everyone’s posts as well!
MY CURRENT READ
At St. Aidan the Great School, or S.T.A.G.S., new things–and new people–are to be avoided. Unfortunately, Greer MacDonald, token scholarship student, is very much a new person. She has just transferred to S.T.A.G.S., and finds herself ignored at best and mocked at worst by the school’s most admired circle of friends, the Medievals.
So imagine Greer’s surprise when this very group invites her to an exclusive weekend retreat at the private estate of the parents of their unofficial leader, Henry de Warlencourt. It’s billed as a weekend of “huntin’ shootin’ fishin’,” and rumor has it that the invitee who most impresses the group will be given the privilege of becoming a Medieval themselves.
As the weekend begins to take shape, however, it becomes apparent that beyond the luxurious trappings–the fancy clothes the maid lays out on Greer’s bed, the elaborate multicourse dinners held in the Great Hall–there are predators lurking, and they’re out for blood. . . .
1. Why did you decide to pick up this book–cover or content?
Content! I was hooked from the minute I read the synopsis! It sounded dark and mysterious!
2. Who is your favorite character so far, and why?
Shafeen. He’s not the main character, but I just really like him. There was this one scene where a girl was being mocked and he took the attention off of her and put it on himself. It was such a nice thing for him to do for her that after this point in the story he became my favorite character.
3. Will you finish this one?
Yes! I am planning on finishing it up tomorrow. I’m about halfway through now. If I hadn’t been so tired today I definitely would have finished it up in one day.
4. This book reminds me of…
Kind of like the movie Mean Girls. The Medievals are a rich group that everyone aspires to be like and tries their hardest to fit in and be like them. People dress like them, talk like them, do as they say, etc. Just like in Mean Girls, their clique is exclusive to only the best of the best.
5. What type of read is this one? (Slow but interesting, cannot put it down…)
Slow but interesting. I am about halfway through and not much has happened yet, but the tension is definitely building. I can’t wait to see how this book progresses.
Well, that completes this week’s What Are You Reading Wednesday post! It was a lot of fun! Are you planning on participating next week? What is your current read? Let me know down in the comments! ‘Til next time!
Sounds interesting. I am currently reading Missing by Kelley Armstrong.

Ooooh a Mean Girls type of book? Although I’m a little put off by the slow comment. I think I’ve seen someone else review this, and they didn’t love it. Not sure if I’ll pick this one up. Enjoy though! 🙂

I enjoyed it! It definitely is a slow paced book for sure though. So if that’s not your thing, I’d say skip it.

I’ve seen this somewhere else online today (bookstagram maybe?). I can’t say it would be one I’d pick up but I’d probably like it if I did. That happens a lot.
Unfortunately I’m not reading anything at the moment! Had a busy few days between my last read and now so I have to find something new today. Thinking of buying Dear Martin by Nic Stone but it’s only on sale on Kindle and I hate reading digital files so we’ll see. We shall see.

It’s just the title and black antlers above it. Very boring if you ask me
